Accessibility
We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA on the main wheel. This page describes what works and what we know needs more work.
Last updated October 2026
What's supported
- Every control is reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
- Entries can be reordered with Move up / Move down buttons, each labelled with the entry name.
- Results are announced once through a polite live region and shown in a focus-managed dialog.
- With “reduce motion” set on your device, the wheel skips the spin and confetti, and shows the same result.
- Sound is off until you turn it on.
- Light and dark themes follow your device and can be changed with the theme button.
- Fullscreen mode can be exited with Escape or the Exit fullscreen button.
Known limitations
- Some older specialist tools (sports, colour, image and Instagram wheels) still use their previous controls and haven't had a full audit.
- Very long labels are shortened on the wheel itself; the full text appears in the result and the options list.
Testing so far is automated and simulated in desktop and mobile browser sizes, not on physical assistive-technology setups.
