Image Picker Wheel
Upload photos from your device, build a visual image wheel, and spin to reveal a winning image. Images stay in this browser.
From pictures to a usable draw
- Choose images from your device or drag them into the upload area. The wheel accepts up to 20 images; wait for uploads to finish before spinning.
- Edit each label so you can identify the result without relying on its picture. Initial labels come from filenames, so replace camera numbers with meaningful names.
- Hide images that should not enter the draw, or remove them entirely. Only eligible images can win; rearranging the list changes its order, not equal-chance odds.
- Spin and inspect the selected image and labels. Download image saves the first winner’s stored JPEG; the result card lists all selected winners’ labels when a multiwinner setting is already in use.
What happens to uploaded images?
Conversion happens in your browser. Images are resized to a maximum of 720 pixels on their longest side, without upscaling, and encoded as compressed JPEG at quality 0.82. This is a working copy for the wheel, not an archive of the original: fine detail and transparency may not be retained.
Browser storage has a device-dependent quota; 20 images is a count limit, not a promise they will all fit. If saving fails, try fewer or smaller images and keep a backup. My wheels can save the compressed images with their settings and export them. Local storage is not permanent or shared across devices.
Useful visual choices
- Classroom: pick a labelled picture as a writing or vocabulary prompt.
- Design review: choose a concept to discuss first, rather than treating the draw as a quality score.
- Team workshop: select a project photo or activity card to start the next round.
For a text-only shortlist use the custom wheel; for choosing people use the name picker. Read how eligible entries and weights affect selection before a draw that matters.
Image picker questions
- Does Download image return my original file?
- No. It downloads the first winner’s resized, compressed JPEG. Keep the original files separately if you need full resolution.
- Are photos uploaded to an account?
- No account or remote photo connection is used. Images and labels stay in this browser unless you deliberately export or share a result.
- Can an image wheel have multiple winners?
- The draw supports a saved multiwinner setting and displays every selected entry, but this page does not offer a winner-count control. It draws one winner with its default settings.
- Does a bigger picture have a better chance?
- No. Uploads start with equal weight. Picture dimensions do not affect selection; eligibility and any saved weighting settings do.
