Ready to roll
Your next roll, without the rummage
Use this dice roller when the real dice are missing, when a game needs several dice, or when you want a quick number for a playful challenge. D6 dice show familiar dots; other sizes show the number directly, without pretending to be physical polyhedra.
Every die is sampled independently using the browser's cryptographic random generator and rejection sampling. Each integer from 1 to the die size is equally likely. All values are selected before the decorative rolling animation; repeated values are allowed.
How to use it
- Choose between one and six dice.
- Pick D4, D6, D8, D10, D12 or D20; all dice use that size.
- Press Roll dice. Read the individual faces and total.
- Roll again with the same setup, or reset to two D6 dice.
Ideas to try
- Roll two D6s for a board-game move.
- Use a D20 for a tabletop encounter.
- Roll a D4 to choose one of four activities.
- Compare sums from one die and several dice in a probability lesson.
Questions
- What does D20 mean?
- D20 means a die with 20 equally likely results, numbered 1 through 20. The same naming applies to the other sizes.
- Can two dice show the same number?
- Yes. Dice are independent, so doubles and other repeated values are valid results.
- Can I mix sizes or add modifiers?
- This roller uses one size for the whole roll and shows the unmodified sum. Mixed dice and game-specific modifiers are not included.
- Does changing the setup keep the old total?
- No. Changing the count or size clears the previous result so it cannot be mistaken for a roll with the new settings. Nothing is saved on reload.
